ERASMUS MUNDUS EXTERNAL COOPERATION WINDOW in Asian Region project - College of Social Sciences, Lithuania

College of Social Sciences (www.smk.lt), Lithuania, is seeking for partners for cooperation in Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window in Asian region project in academic year 2008/2009 (please, see the link http://eacea.ec.europa.eu/extcoop/call/index.htm).

The Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window is designed to foster institutional co-operation in the field of higher education between European Union and Asian region countries through a mobility scheme addressing student and academic exchanges for the purposes of studying, teaching, training etc.

With this project we offer individual mobility for undergraduate students of Business Studies and Management Science programme. Students will have an opportunity to study, exchange experience and know other culture of European Union countries for a period of 6 to 34 months. Also we encourage mobility of academic staff of Business Studies and Management Science field. Academic staff will be able to exchange for the purpose of teaching, practical training and research. Individual mobility for academic staff can last from 1 to 3 months. Scholarships will cover expenditure related to tuition fees (if any), traveling and subsistence.

College of Social Sciences seeks with this project to create a network of partners between higher education institutions in European and Asian regions. We believe that development of partnership network will reason successful future cooperation in the area of education.

College of Social Sciences already has 10 partners from Asian region, but we faced a problem with reaching higher education institutions in Europe. At the moment we have 5 institutions. But we seek to build strong and wide cooperation so we would like to have more partners from Europe.

We kindly ask you to send over the information regarding cooperation in the project to higher education institutions in your country or inform them about it in other ways. We strongly believe that encouragement and spread of information by the Ministry would grant more self-confidence for higher education institutions and stimulate them to take part in this initiative, which would be useful both for European and Asian institutions. Please use detailed information about the project in the enclosure.
